Consistent Performance Throughout the Race John Sylvester demonstrated impressive consistency in the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a solid pace of 7:06 min/mile, he quickly gained momentum, most notably dropping to a pace of 6:08 min/mile between miles 2 and 3. Overall, his consistent pacing held, with an average pace of 6:37 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. Most notable was his ability to maintain an even pace across multiple miles, showing well-distributed effort without significant slowing in later stages. John's improvement is clear when examining his performance within his division. He moved up steadily, reaching 15th in the M35-39 division by mile 9, and although there were slight fluctuations in his placement, he finished strong at 20th in his category. His performance suggests further potential in pacing, particularly in the final miles where a slightly stronger finish could be achieved. Training with McKirdy Trained is clearly benefiting his race consistency.
