Pacing Fluctuations Highlight the Run Tom Love completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon with a total time of 3:14:01 and an overall pace of 14:48 min/mile. Starting strong, Tom's first split recorded a 12:57 min/mile pace, showing initial momentum. As the race continued, each split experience varied slightly. The most significant dip occurred in the 7th mile, with a 16:50 min/mile pace. Later, from mile 11 to the finish, Tom displayed consistent pacing, maintaining splits under 15 min/mile, exemplifying a focused finish. Tom's performance landed him 109th in the M55-59 division among 3859 total participants. While the overall trend indicated a gradual pace decrease mid-race, a noteworthy rally in the final miles was observed, highlighting his resilience. Significant improvement can be achieved by aiming for steadier splits across all miles. Embarking on sessions that focus on pace consistency might prove advantageous for future events.
