Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Jay Long #17265 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

**Consistent Speed and Strong Finish** Jay Long, a 45-year-old runner from Killingly, CT, demonstrated impressive consistency and determination throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting strong with a 7:07 min/mile for the first mile, Jay quickly picked up his pace. Notable improvements were seen, including a 6:23 min/mile at the second mile and an exceptional 6:02 min/mile at mile six, which was his fastest split. Throughout the race, Jay maintained a steady average pace of 6:32 min/mile for the 13.1 miles, completing the race with an overall time of 1:25:47. His performance secured him an impressive 10th place in his Male 45-49 division. Jay showed particularly strong improvement in positioning after mile 9, moving up consistently until the finish. For future races, focusing on pacing strategy in the early miles could help enhance already impressive results. Well done on a commendable performance!
