Consistent Start, Tactical Opportunities Ahead Kati Coy participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, showcasing her consistent pace through the first half of the race. Her early miles were commendable, maintaining sub-8-minute miles for the first 19 miles of the marathon. Notably, the 7th mile was completed in 7:31 and stood as her fastest split, indicating potential in managing a quicker pace for future attempts. As the race progressed, Kati experienced a gradual slowdown in her pace after the 19th mile, with her final average pace recorded at 8:35 min/mile. The split between miles 21 and 25 showed room for tactical adjustments as times drifted above the 10-minute mark. Although this race did not mirror her previous marathon performance, where she finished with a 7:53 min/mile pace, there is a solid foundation here for building strategy in the latter half of the race. Keep refining pacing tactics, specifically around the latter stages, to better execute the finish.
