Consistent Mid-Race Pace with Slight Slowing at Finish Denise Clayburn, 55, from Layton, UT, delivered a consistent performance during the 2025 Mesa Marathon's half marathon. Her pacing was impressively stable through the first half of the race. Notably, between Miles 2 and 3, she clocked her fastest split in 8:30, demonstrating strong early momentum. By Mile 6, her pace was at 8:49, holding steady through the halfway point. In the latter part of the race, a partial slowdown occurred. The pacing increased slightly from Mile 8, peaking at 10:50 per mile by Mile 11. Overall, Denise completed the half marathon with an elapsed time of 2:06:53, with an average pace of 9:41 per mile. She finished 25th in the F55-59 division. Maintaining early-mile momentum throughout would further enhance race execution in future events. Denise's engagement and consistency are commendable from start to finish.
