Impressive Consistency and Strong Finish Carl M. Johnson displayed remarkable consistency throughout the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. At age 71, he competed in the M70-74 category, making significant strides as the race progressed. Starting with a split pace of 11:54 min/mile at the first mile, Carl gradually improved his pace, clocking an impressive 10:55 min/mile overall. His fastest split was mile 13, where he achieved a commendable 9:49 min/mile, showcasing his stamina and ability to maintain speed until the finish. In his age division, Carl secured a very respectable 10th place out of 12 competitors, with a final overall time of 2:23:13. Consistently advancing in placement, particularly in the latter segments of the race, is an encouraging sign of strong endurance.
