Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Nicole King #12213 Race: 2025 Mesa Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent and Determined Performance Nicole King registered a well-paced run, primarily maintaining a pace between 8:34 and 9:01 minutes per mile over the 26.2-mile course. Starting strong, she ran the first mile in 8:34, eventually completing with an overall pace of 9:01 minutes per mile. Notably, she picked up her swiftest segment in the sixth mile at 7:05 minutes, demonstrating her capability to regain speed after a slower fifth mile. Nicole showed resilience, visibly improving in positioning as the race progressed. She achieved her best divisional ranking at 67th in her age group early on and overall placed 89th in the F35-39 category. Although pace slightly decreased in the latter part of the race, she still managed to climb the ranks among female participants, ending 443rd out of nearly 3,624 total participants. Training could be tailored to maintain a consistent pace in the later stages of the race.
