Consistent Effort with Potential for Faster Finishes Marcelle Calder, from Phoenix, participated in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, completing the half marathon with an elapsed time of 2:25:43 and an overall average pace of 11:07 minutes per mile. Her race showed a consistent start with an initial steady pace of 9:51 min/mile, but saw a gradual deceleration over the distance, reaching an average split pace of 12:31 min/mile by mile 13. Her efforts placed her 1,199th among female participants and 166th in her division (F40-44) out of 3859 total runners. From a coaching perspective, while Marcelle's pacing was steady early on, there's a noticeable slowdown in the latter miles. It might be beneficial to focus on improving endurance in future training sessions, specifically aiming to maintain an even pace throughout the entirety of the race.
