Date: February 8, 2025 Participant: Verenice Padilla #17822 Race: 2025 Mesa Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Perfect running conditions at 63°F, partly cloudy skies, and a slight breeze from the east in Mesa, AZ.

Consistent but Slower Half Marathon Performance Verenice Padilla completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with a total time of 3:02:02, averaging a pace of 13:53 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. She maintained a steady pace, beginning with a 12:52 min/mile in the first mile and gradually slowing to 13:53 min/mile by the end. Interestingly, her placement fluctuated throughout the race; despite starting strong, she ended at 3123rd overall out of 3859 participants. Analyzing her splits reveals consistency in the first half but notable slower splits towards the end, particularly the 6th mile at 15:06 min/mile and the 11th mile at 15:19 min/mile. In her age group, Female 40-44, she placed 211th. Compared to her previous 10K in 2024, her pace decreased, suggesting a potential area to focus on for future races might be endurance over longer distances. Nonetheless, participating as a team member of Latinos Run Phoenix, her dedication shines through.
