Consistent Start, Struggle in Latter Miles David McWilliams, representing team SWET, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon with a final time of 6:00:27. His overall pace was 13:45 min/mile, ranking him 3073rd out of 3624 participants, and 70th in the M60-64 division. Initially, David showed strong pacing, covering the first mile in 9:46, leading to a promising start. His early splits from mile 1 through 4 hovered below the 10:00 min/mile mark, maintaining a commendable early race consistency. However, a notable decrease in pace transpired from mile 18 onwards, particularly mile 21 with a split time of 20:29. This late-race slowdown affected his overall rank in his division.
