Remarkable Surge in the Final Miles Lauren Gregory delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a steady pace, she completed the first mile in 5:31, maintaining her competitive position—placing second in her gender category. Her pace slightly fluctuated in the early miles, as seen in mile 2 with a split time of 5:37. However, she regained momentum by mile 3, recording a split of 4:57, and consistently placed second for her gender throughout the next segments. A standout aspect of Lauren's race was her notable acceleration at the final stage. From mile 11 onwards, Lauren's splits particularly improved, peaking at mile 13 with a swift 4:47 pace. She concluded the half marathon with an overall time of 1:09:12, securing the top position in her gender. Her ability to finish strong could be leveraged further by seeking to minimize pacing variability in earlier miles for a potentially faster overall time. Excellent work!
