Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Brent Cope from Beaumont, TX, completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon half marathon with a total time of 2:10:54, maintaining an average pace of 9:59 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. Brent demonstrated significant pacing consistency, starting with a 10:37 min/mile pace in the first mile and maintaining an approximate pace close to his average until the end. Notably, despite some slower splits in the later stages, he pulled a commendable effort in Mile 13, with a faster split pace of 9:33 min/mile. In his age division of M60-64, Brent placed 33rd out of numerous participants, which shows a solid competitive spirit and performance. His steady pace across the race course suggests a strong foundation in distance running. Future strategies could focus on maintaining mid-race momentum, particularly between Miles 8 and 10, where the elapsed pace slightly decreased.
