Consistent Pacing with a Strong Middle Section Bien Flores, competing in the 2025 Mesa Marathon, exhibited a solid mid-race performance. Starting at a pace of 16:15 min/mile for the first mile, Flores managed to significantly increase his speed by the third mile, achieving a pace of 8:40 min/mile. From miles 3 to 13, he maintained an impressive average pace between 8:24 and 8:37 min/mile, indicating strong stamina and pacing abilities in the middle section of the race. The latter part of the race saw a gradual slowdown. From mile 18, Flores' pace varied, reaching a 10:37 min/mile at mile 21, before it slowed down further in the final stretch of the race with the final mile paced at 12:07 min/mile. This suggests a potential area for endurance improvement towards the end of the marathon. Overall, Flores completed the marathon with an elapsed time of 4:04:09, placing 1121st in the male category and 163rd in his division (M35-39). Great effort and consistent pacing were key highlights.
