Consistent, Strong Finish Despite Slower Pace Ryan Sandstrom completed the 2025 Mesa Marathon 10K in 1:19:12 with an average pace of 12:46 min/mile. Ryan started strong with a 11:27 min/mile for the first mile, but pacing decreased thereafter, with a notable change at the 5-mile mark clocking in at 13:42 min/mile. Ryan finished 1231st overall, with a noteworthy 62nd position in the M40-44 division out of 2107 total participants. Ryan’s sixth and final mile showed a quickening with a 12:03 min/mile pace, indicating a strong finish. Compared to his previous race in the 2023 Mesa Marathon 10K, where he completed in 1:09:13 with an 11:09 min/mile pace, there's a noticeable slower overall pace. Emphasizing consistency in pacing and increased speed work in training could improve overall performance given his proven ability to push towards a faster finish.
