Steady Progress with Improved Consistency Bertie's performance at the 2025 Mesa Marathon showcased a consistent pace throughout the 10K event, with an overall elapsed time of 1:14:15, resulting in an average pace of 11:58 min/mile. This marks a significant improvement from her previous 10K in 2022, where her pace was 14:59 min/mile. Her split times displayed impressive consistency, with the quickest split being the last mile at 11:11 min/mile. Bertie placed 4th in the F70-74 division and represented the East Valley Runners solidly. While ranking 536th out of 2107 female participants, Bertie managed gradual improvement across the course. Notably, her performance recently improved compared to her half marathon result in 2024, showing increased speed and stamina over a shorter distance. For continued progress, focusing on maintaining the quickened pace achieved during the last split for future races might help refine overall race performance.
