Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Jana Wilson completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:26:42, maintaining an average pace of 10:10 min/mile. She demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the race, beginning with a first mile split of 10:08 min/mile, and maintaining a similar tempo through to mile 20. An impressive feature of her performance was her ability to maintain or slightly improve her pace during the latter stage of the race. Notably, her fastest split, 9:27 min/mile, was achieved at mile 14. During the marathon, Jana's placement experienced positive fluctuation, most notably at mile 11 where she improved her overall standing significantly. By the race's end, she placed 83rd in her division (F19-24), 717th among female participants, and 1895th overall out of 3509 participants. Consistency was key, but also consider assessing rest and pacing strategies during the race to optimize performance further. Great effort representing "Fast, Furious, & Flirty"!
