Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish Sitaram Lanka showcased impressive pacing and a solid finish at the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. He completed the race in 1:52:52 with an average pace of 8:37 min/mile. Over the course of the race, he maintained a steady pace, starting with a strong first mile of 8:01 min/mile, and despite some slowing mid-race, he finished strongly with an 8:40 min/mile over the last mile. Notably, he placed 62nd in the M40-44 division out of 4125 total participants, reflecting a consistent performance throughout the event. Compared to previous races, Sitaram demonstrated considerable improvement. This years finish time was a significant step up from his earlier performance, dropping more than 21 minutes from his 2018 Mesa Marathon time. Consistency in training seems to pay off, as this year marks a new personal best in his recent race history. Continuously focusing on late-race pacing might further enhance future results.
