Consistent Pace with Strategic Surges Dustin embarked on the 2026 Mesa Marathon with commendable consistency and strategic pacing. Starting with a split of 6:33 min/mile, he managed to consistently maintain a pace ranging between 6:29 and 6:47 min/mile throughout the race. The impressive split at mile 11, recorded at 6:24 min/mile, highlights his capability to surge when necessary, which improved his positioning significantly. His placement improved notably between miles 8 and 11, where he moved from 107th to 98th overall. Throughout the marathon, Dustin demonstrated remarkable consistency, ending with an overall elapsed time of 2:54:34 and a consistent average pace of 6:39 min/mile. He maintained a strong position within the M35-39 age division, finishing 19th out of 3509 participants. A small decline in pace occurred around mile 25, where he recorded his slowest split of 7:02 min/mile. Future focus could be directed towards maintaining pace as the race approaches the final miles.
