Maintaining Consistency with Room for Improvement on Pace Mallory Maas completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K with an overall time of 1:26:27, averaging a pace of 13:56 min/mile. Throughout the race, Mallory kept a consistent performance, especially in the early sections with a solid pace of 12:05 min/mile at the first mile. Although initial miles showed promising splits, her splits gradually paced upwards, with the fourth mile peaking at a 16:59 min/mile split. Despite a position of 201 in her division, significant effort was evident. Comparing the previous 10K race time of 1:01:00 in 2024, where a faster pace of 9:50 min/mile was achieved, consider placing focus on pace maintenance strategy for future races. Continuous improvement can be facilitated by identifying pacing strategies through training, especially in mid-race miles. Participating with the AZ Run Club continues to be a beneficial decision, promoting a supportive platform for growth and strategy refinement.
