Consistent Performance with a Solid Finish Gary Crandell delivered a consistent performance in the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. His overall time was 2:19:14, with an average pace of 10:37 min/mile. Starting strong, Gary maintained an evenly paced race throughout the 13.1-mile course. His first mile was clocked at 10:48 min/mile, and he managed to maintain a fairly consistent pace, peaking slightly with a 10:06 min/mile at the second mile. Gary secured a 7th place in the M70-74 division, with his best divisional placement after mile 8 at 5th place. Despite fluctuations, he finished notably stronger than previous years like in 2019 and 2020. Gary's progress since past events like the 2019 and 2020 Mesa Marathons shows marked improvement in pace and finishing times. While his time this year was slightly slower than in 2025, his ability to maintain a consistent pace throughout the race is commendable.
