Consistent Pace with Notable Leadership Splits Danelle maintained a strong and steady pace throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon, finishing with an overall time of 3:29:46 and an average pace of 8:00 min/mile. Her performance showed a consistent strategy, with splits primarily in the 7:30 to 8:03 min/mile range. A highlight was the eighth mile, where she achieved an impressive split time of 7:36 min/mile, resulting in a 3rd place divisional position. Despite a small slowdown at the 5th mile with a 9:05 min/mile split time, she impressively regained pace shortly afterward. In her age division (F55-59), Danelle finished 6th. A closer examination of her split times suggests that maintaining consistency in the latter part of the race could be beneficial, particularly targeting the miles with slight decreases. As a member of the East Valley Runners, Danelle's performance exemplifies resilience and strategy. Adjusting pace strategies for the mid-race phase may enhance future outcomes.
