Stable Performance with Potential in Negative Splits Corissa Smith completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon half marathon with a total time of 2:25:35, achieving an average pace of 11:06 min/mile. Her performance saw some variability with a strong start at a 10:16 min/mile pace in the first mile. The middle section of the race showed a noticeable increase in pace, with Mile 6 peaking at 11:33 min/mile. She managed to finish with a slightly quicker pace in the final mile at 10:39 min/mile. Among 4,125 participants, she placed 2,701st overall and 1,325th among females, ranking 163rd in her age division. Comparing current results to previous races, Corissa demonstrated improved pacing consistency over the 2023 event. Although slightly behind her 2024 performance, her final pace was a significant improvement over 2019 and 2023. Future strategies could focus on maintaining early race momentum throughout the middle miles to further enhance her race outcome.
