Consistent Start, Strong Finish in Marathon Emily Mangum demonstrated impressive pacing during the 2026 Mesa Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile course in 5:20:14 with an average pace of 12:13 minutes per mile. The opening miles showcased her consistency with splits ranging from 10:24 to 10:37 minutes per mile. Notably, her 8th mile clocked at 10:53 minutes per mile, improving significantly on her earlier splits and securing her best divisional position at 80th place in F35-39. In subsequent miles, Emily maintained a steady performance, hitting a mid-race peak from miles 11 to 13, recovering positions in the overall and female categories. Although the latter part of the race saw a gradual decrease in pace, her consistent effort through slower miles reflects durability. Emily placed 131st in her division out of 3509 total participants.
