Steady Mid-Race Performance with a Strong Start Brayden Gibbons completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 2:01:48, clocking an average pace of 9:17 min/mile. His initial pace was promising as he recorded 8:47 min/mile in the first mile, and improved to an 8:01 min/mile at mile 5. This strong start saw him initially climb to 102nd within his division by the fifth mile. Although Brayden displayed consistency, his pace began to decline after the mid-point, with his slowest split at mile 13, recording at 11:19 min/mile. Despite the slower finish, his overall performance remained strong, particularly in comparison to his 2023 race, where he finished in 2:17:10. Moving forward, Brayden may benefit from maintaining his pace through the latter parts of the race to replicate the stellar performance he achieved in 2025's finish time of 1:58:46.
