Consistent Start, Gradual Slow Down Jason Giorgio maintained a strong initial pace in the first half of the 2026 Mesa Marathon, with mile splits consistently under 10:00 minutes per mile from miles 1 through 5. Notably, his split at mile 5 was his fastest at 9:52 min/mile. However, after the halfway mark, his pace started to gradually decline. By mile 10, his pace had decreased to 12:03 min/mile, with the concluding mile pace of 11:07 min/mile contributing to an overall average of 10:46 min/mile. Despite the slowdown in the latter miles, Jason earned a position of 82nd in his division and finished 2533rd out of 4125 participants overall. There was a noticeable dip in his performance from miles 9 through 11, which might indicate a potential area for improvement in endurance training.
