Consistent Pacing with Notable Recovery Sandra Chang delivered a consistent performance at the 2026 Mesa Marathon. Her overall time was 2:19:15 for the 13.1-mile distance, with an average pace of 10:37 min/mile. Noteworthy in her splits was the ability to maintain a consistent pace throughout. Her split times ranged narrowly, with a few fluctuations evident, such as a strong recovery seen between mile 5 and mile 6 where the split pace dropped to 11:44 min/mile. Sandra's performance improved over different segments of the race. By executing an impressive negative split in mile 2, she recorded a split pace of 9:54 min/mile, the fastest of her race. In the latter part of the race, she regained positions, once more demonstrating her ability for recovery, finishing strongly between miles 11 and 13. Sandra placed 101st in her division, and further work on maintaining the improved pacing throughout the race will surely continue to enhance her standing.
