Consistent Race Performance with Pace Improvements Johnetta Davis completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K with an official time of 1:41:04, achieving an average pace of 16:18 min/mile across the 6.2-mile distance. Notably, she improved her pace throughout the race. Her third-mile split of 15:42 min/mile was exceptional compared to earlier miles, including her first-mile split of 17:21 min/mile. In a field of 2,851 participants, Johnetta ranked 13th in the F70-74 division. Her consistent pace shows praiseworthy endurance and adaptability during the race. Comparing these results with her previous performance in the 2017 Mesa Marathon, Johnetta has achieved a remarkable improvement in pace, cutting down from 17:01 min/mile to 16:18 min/mile. Encouragingly, this demonstrates a well-maintained or enhanced training regimen. Moving forward, maintaining this progression will lead to even greater accomplishments. Working on interval training could further enhance Johnetta's speed, allowing her to continue lowering her average pace in future races.
