Consistent Increase in Split Pacing Sanjeev Neerukattu completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with an overall time of 2:37:13 and an average pace of 12:00 min/mile. Starting strong, his pace for the first mile was 9:50 min/mile, but progressively increased as the race continued up to his final mile split of 13:02 min/mile. His performance started at 9:50 min/mile but saw a gradual slowdown during the race. Notably, he maintained a steady climb in his elapsed pace, which reached 12:00 min/mile by the end of the race. In his division M50-54, Sanjeev's placing varied across splits, with a notable start at 41st and ending at 101st. Improving his performance towards the end, his strongest division standing was 41st at the beginning. Focusing on consistent pacing throughout the race could enhance his efficiency and help prevent fatigue in later miles. Continued practice on maintaining pace can be beneficial for future races.
