Significant Pace Improvement in the Half Marathon Emory Hopkin completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon in 1:42:39, averaging a pace of 7:50 min/mile over 13.1 miles. Beginning with a steady pace of 7:41 min/mile in the first mile, the trend of consistency is evident throughout the race. Notably, the final mile was covered in 7:14, indicating a strong finish. Despite a slight slowdown in pace between miles 8 and 10, Emory maintained a controlled effort to secure a respectable placement of 15th in the F19-24 division. Compared to prior performances, Emory demonstrated a remarkable improvement from her previous finish times of 2:23:11 in 2020 and 2:46:57 in 2023 for the same event. This impressive progress merits recognition. Maintaining consistent paces in the earlier miles and finishing strong are commendable aspects of this performance.
