Consistent Pace with Strong Mid-Race Surge Emily Schwerdt showcased her endurance and strategy in the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon. Notably, she had a strong second mile, clocking in at 6:03 min/mile, which significantly contributed to improving her standing early on. Overall, she secured a finishing position of 193rd out of 4125 participants, placing 55th among female runners and 14th in the F30-34 divisiona commendable outcome. Emily's splits reveal a steady performance, with most of her mile times close to her average. Her pace slightly fluctuated but stabilized towards the end, where she achieved her second-fastest split at mile 13 with a time of 6:26. Focusing on maintaining her early-mile energy and perhaps slightly regulating her mid-race pace could lead to an improved outcome in future races.
