Consistent Early Pacing Leads to Strong Finish Lauren Allen Warner of Phoenix participated in the 2026 Mesa Marathon with an overall completion time of 5:03:20 for the 26.2-mile race, maintaining an average pace of 11:34 min/mile. Starting strong, Lauren clocked an impressive 10:02 min/mile for the first mile. Her pacing was consistent through the first half of the race, keeping her splits around the 10:00 min/mile mark until mile 5. From mile 5 onward, Lauren's pace gradually slowed. The most significant drop was observed in the last couple of miles, with mile 26 recorded as the slowest at 13:39 min/mile. She secured 950th place in her gender category out of 1,274 and 176th in her F25-29 division. It would be beneficial to focus on sustaining early race speed during the latter stages. Consistent training on longer distance runs may help strengthen endurance in future races.
