Consistent Effort with Room for Strategic Pacing Sreedhar Desai completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon in 2:19:45, maintaining an average pace of 10:40 min/mile. Beginning strong, Sreedhar clocked a 9:18 min/mile pace in the first mile, ranking 49th in his division. By the second mile, there was a slight pace drop to 9:50 min/mile, but he maintained the initial pace ranking. A dip in pace showed around mile three, where pace extended to 11:04 min/mile, and placement shifted to 82nd in division, suggesting possible fatigue or adjustment to race conditions. Despite fluctuations, Sreedhar managed consistent efforts between miles six and nine, staying around 10:25 min/mile. His most significant split time occurred between miles eleven and twelve, at 11:31 min/mile. For future races, consider maintaining early race pacing for improved consistency in later miles.
