Consistent Splits with Late Race Challenge Andrea Zimmerli maintained a consistent pace for the majority of the 2026 Mesa Marathon, showcasing an impressive start with initial splits around 14:41 min/mile and improving to 14:10 min/mile by the third mile. Her ability to maintain her pace in the middle sections of the race is commendable, marked by split times close to or below 14:30 min/mile from miles 1 to 7. In the latter half of the race, Andrea experienced a drop in pace, with splits 8 to 13 averaging closer to 15:30 min/mile or more. The final stretch, in particular, showed the greatest opportunity, with the 13th split clocking in at 19:25 min/mile. Overall, Andrea's performance still placed her well among her peers, completing the half marathon in 3:20:22 with an average pace of 15:17 min/mile. Moving forward, focusing on endurance toward the race's end could yield even better results.
