Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Zachary maintained a consistent pace through the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon, beginning with an impressive 6:45 min/mile in the first mile and concluding the race with a 7:09 min/mile average pace. Notably, his split times showed slight variation, with the first three miles consistently averaging around 6:46 to 6:48 min/mile. Mid-race, Zachary's pace slightly increased, reaching up to 7:25 min/mile by mile seven but he showed resilience by improving again and finishing with a strong 7:05 min/mile in the final mile. Throughout the race, Zachary's overall placement saw fluctuations, initially starting at 266th and finishing at 356th overall among 4125 participants. His position in the M35-39 division displayed minor variations, ultimately securing 34th place. While pacing saw gradual changes, Zachary effectively maintained proximity to his average split pace, demonstrating great ability to stay on target. Continued focus on maintaining earlier speed throughout race distance could further enhance future performances.
