Consistent Sub-7:00 Pacing and Strategic Positioning Joshua Kennedy maintained a strong, sub-7:00 min/mile pace throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half, completing the 13.1-mile course in 1:31:31. Despite starting with a pace of 7:05 for the first mile, he quickly adjusted, achieving his quickest splits at miles 5 and 8 with 6:54 min/mile. Overall, his average pace was a consistent 6:59 min/mile, demonstrating endurance and pacing strategy. Joshua showed significant improvement in his positioning over the course of the race. Starting 217th overall, he improved to 252nd by the end. His consistency is evidenced by the close match of his finishing time and the average pace. Remaining part of the top half of his division, he was 27th among 19-24 males. With further attention to pacing consistency, particularly in the early miles, Joshua can improve his performance moving forward.
