Consistency with Promising Splits Suriya Vanderoord demonstrated a consistent performance throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon, completing the half marathon in 2:35:51. Her average pace was 11:53 min/mile. The first five miles displayed improvement with escalating split paces, transitioning from 11:47 min/mile to a strong 10:45 min/mile at mile 5. Her final placing was 3031st out of 4125 participants overall, 1535th among female participants, and 190th in the F19-24 division. Attention to maintaining the pace during later stages could enhance Suriya's performance. After hitting a slower pace at mile 6 with a 14:19 min/mile split, she showed a remarkable comeback with a more steady pace near 11:30 min/mile for subsequent miles. Continue this approach by focusing on optimizing her second half pacing strategy could further improve consistency and reduce fatigue during the latter parts of the race.
