Consistent Acceleration and Strong Finish in Half Marathon Camryn Castillo displayed impressive pacing in the 2026 Mesa Marathon, completing the half marathon in 1:40:48. She maintained a consistent pace below 8:15 min/mile throughout, and progressively improved each split from 8:13 min/mile at mile 1 to a swift 7:04 min/mile at mile 13. Her average pace was 7:41 min/mile over the entire course. Notably strong in the F15-18 division, she achieved a 7th place finish out of her age group. The race data reflects steady improvement, particularly the substantial pace reduction in the latter half. Camryn reached mile 6 with a pace of 8:36 min/mile, but then accelerated, finishing with progressively faster pace splits. Her finishing position improved significantly in the final miles, advancing from 719th overall at mile 4 to 471st by the end. Continuing to focus on maintaining and accelerating her impressive finishing kick would be beneficial for future performances.
