Consistent Strong Pacing Leads to Improved Performance Andrew Dalton delivered a strong performance at the 2026 Mesa Marathon's Half Marathon event. Completing the 13.1-mile distance in 1:29:09 with an average pace of 6:48 min/mile, Andrew demonstrated consistent effort throughout the race. Notably, he improved his overall placement in later miles, with a notable final mile split of 6:20 min/mile that contributed to his strong finish. Starting at a pace of 7:12 min/mile in the first mile, Andrew quickly picked up speed and consistently maintained close to sub-7-minute mile pace for the remainder of the race. Compared to his previous best from 2019, Andrew achieved a pace improvement, cutting down his finishing time by nearly four minutes. In particular, maintaining a steady progression from mile 5 to mile 8, where he moved up from 321st to 228th place overall, highlights the strength in his pace strategy.
