Smooth Early Pace, Late Race Recovery Stephen Brookman demonstrated an interesting pattern in the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half. Starting strong, Stephen clocked his first mile in 8:58. By mile 2, he still maintained a commendable pace of 9:17 min/mile. The trend till mile 6 reveals a gradual slowing, with the pace extending to 15:34 min/mile at mile 6. Stephen managed to make an impressive recovery though, as evidenced by mile 8's improved pace of 9:40 min/mile. Overall, Stephen completed the half marathon in 2:22:53, averaging a pace of 10:54 min/mile. His final standings placed him 137th in the M40-44 division out of 4125 participants.
