Consistent Pace with Strategic Finish Marisa Santillan displayed a commendable performance in the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K. Starting with a split of 15:47 min/mile, she improved her pace significantly in subsequent miles, hitting a faster 13:51 min/mile by Mile 3. Notably, her Mile 6 split was her fastest at 13:27 min/mile, indicating a strong finish strategy. Her overall elapsed time for the race was 1:28:42, maintaining an average pace of 14:18 min/mile across the 6.2-mile distance. Marisa's strength was evident in her improved pace from Mile 1 to Mile 3, and again in her final segment. The drop in division placing from 96 at Mile 1 to 75 at Mile 3 shows progress in competitive positioning during the race. However, maintaining this mid-race momentum throughout could further enhance overall results.
