Consistent Pace with Strategic Adjustments Rachel Skousen completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon Half Marathon with a total time of 2:07:02, maintaining a strong average pace of 9:41 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. Rachel's pacing tactics were evident throughout the race as her splits remained relatively consistent, fluctuating only slightly around her average pace. Notably, her consistent endurance was illustrated in mile 8, where she achieved her fastest rank improvement, moving up to 72nd in her division with a split pace of 10:05 min/mile. In terms of race metrics, Rachel placed 803rd in the female category and 98th in her age division out of 4,125 participants. A standout performance occurred in the final miles, where Rachel improved her overall rank, finishing 1568th overall. For future races, it may be beneficial to focus on the final miles for improved endurance and maintaining pace. Being part of the "13.1 Divas" team surely contributes to a motivating race environment.
