Consistent Pacing with Notable Improvement Needed in Middle Splits Maritza Duarte from Mesa, AZ, maintained a consistent yet gradual pace throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K. Starting strong with a 12:14 min/mile for her first mile, her pace slightly declined by the second mile to 12:50 min/mile. Her most significant area for growth was between the third and fifth miles, where her pace increased to 13:05 min/mile and eventually slowed to 14:08 min/mile during the fifth mile. Overall, Maritza finished with an elapsed time of 1:21:58 and an average pace of 13:13 min/mile, ranking 112th in her F19-24 division and 1001st in her gender category among 2851 participants. It would be beneficial for Maritza to focus on maintaining her initial pace in the middle sections of the race to enhance her overall performance.
