Steady Progress and Strong Finish Angela Mancillas demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon 10K. Starting with an initial split of 16:44 min/mile, she maintained her pace for the first few miles. There was a slight deceleration to 19:10 min/mile at the second mile, but this is not uncommon in the early race stages. Impressively, Angela adjusted her pace to 16:30 min/mile by mile three, showing resilience and strategic pacing skills. Angela's performance peaked in the latter stages, highlighted by a striking improvement of 14:31 min/mile at mile four. This strong finish brought her race completion to 1:40:43 with an overall pace of 16:14 min/mile. Her placement improved significantly, gaining higher placements in her gender division. While maintaining a consistent pace is beneficial, integrating more varied speed work could enhance her performance, especially early on.
