Consistent Splits with a Difficult Finish Joshua Schreck maintained strong pacing throughout much of the 2026 Mesa Marathon, with slight variations in his splits. Initially, he displayed a consistent pace, starting with a 7:00 min/mile in the first mile. Notably, there was a significant speed surge at mile 7, clocking in a 6:40 min/mile. This burst was followed by a steady pace, under 7:26 min/mile, until mile 21. His overall time was 3:29:03, resulting in an average pace of 7:58 min/mile. While he showed impressive control of pace in earlier portions, the final miles showed fatigue, with the split time at mile 25 reaching 12:58 min/mile. With minor adjustments, particularly maintaining energy levels in the later stages, Joshua's endurance will likely improve on future long-distance runs.
