Beginning the race with an 11:41 min/mile pace and maintaining effort throughout, Mitchell demonstrated consistency by adjusting slightly to each mile. Mitchell finished in 755th place in his gender category and 117th in the M30-34 division, out of 2,851 total participants. Consistency was a key outcome, noticeable in his overall effort and pacing, besides a minor slowdown at mile five.
