Consistent Start but Slowed Finish Laura Monnie from Surprise, AZ, participating in the 2026 Mesa Marathon, completed the Half Marathon with a total elapsed time of 2:21:57 and an average pace of 10:50 min/mile. Starting strong, Laura managed a consistent pace in the initial miles, maintaining sub-10-minute miles through the first 5 miles, and hitting a best split pace of 9:35 min/mile between the 1st and 2nd mile. Her overall placement in her division was 153 out of 4125 participants. Notably, Laura's pace gradually slowed in the second half, with significant drops in speed from mile 11 onwards. Splits during the 12th and 13th miles were notably slower, recorded at 14:35 and 14:33 respectively.
