Steady Start with Opportunities for Pace Consistency Ashley Warren, representing "War of the Chapped Butts," completed the 2026 Mesa Marathon in 6:14:16. Ashley's initial performance showed a strong start with a pace of 9:35 min/mile in the first mile. However, as the race progressed, there was a gradual slowdown, with the pace shifting over the miles to an average of 14:17 min/mile by the end of the race. Throughout the marathon, split times varied significantly, reaching as much as 18:45 min/mile by mile 25. Improvements could be made by focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace, especially in later miles. Notably, Ashley's positions fluctuated across the race, with a noticeable regain around mile 23 where she positioned 2291 overall. A focus on even pacing and stamina could enhance future race performances. Great effort, Ashley!
