Steady Performance with Strong Finish Katja Goldring maintained an impressive and consistent pace throughout the 2026 Mesa Marathon, recording a final time of 1:11:56. Noteworthy is her ability to control her race, pacing at an average of 5:29 min/mile, with her fastest mile being the last one at 5:17. She secured 3rd place in the female gender group against a large field of 4125 participants. Her strategy played out with a solid performance, especially between miles 5 through 11, where her pace was consistently between 5:27 to 5:36 min/mile. Despite a drop in place at some splits, Goldring quickly regained her position, showcasing a strategic execution and resilience. Comparing to previous races, she improved her time from the 2022 race performance of 1:12:19, and matched her 2023 pace. It is evident that steady pacing and a strong finish were key factors in achieving her excellent position this year.
