Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Forchyne Rushing maintained a steady pace during the first half of the 2026 Mesa Marathon half marathon. Her initial mile was clocked at 7:49, with minimal variance through the fourth mile. The times remained consistently under 8:30 per mile up till mile four. Notably, she demonstrated initial discipline, maintaining a top-50 position within her age group for the first two miles. In the later stages, Forchyne's pace shifted upwards with mile ten split being 12:25, a significant change. Despite this, she persevered to finish strong in 2:03:26. Her overall performance placed her mid-pack both overall and among females, while her final position in the F25-29 category was 125th. Attention to maintaining early pace in longer or tougher segments could be beneficial for future races. Effectiveness of early pacing is evident with a solid capture of early placements within her age division.
