Consistent Pacing with Strong Finish Charlie's performance at the 2026 Mesa Marathon showcased a steady pacing strategy with a final time of 2:03:07. The race began with a solid first mile at a 9:29 pace, quickly picking up momentum by the second mile with a faster 8:57 pace. There's a consistent display in pace, mostly hovering around the 9:15 to 9:17 range throughout the middle miles. Despite a slower split of 11:09 in the last mile, Charlie maintained a strong position, particularly miles 5 through 10 where most split times stayed under 9:30 per mile. Notably, the 8th mile showed an impressive improvement, jumping to 89th in division placement. This consistency paid off, securing 942nd in gender out of over 4,000 participants.
